Obsidian is formed during volcanic eruptions under special conditions.
Therefore obsidian is also often called volcanic glass, rock glass, lava glass or glass agate.

Due to the different minerals and different composition, the rock obsidian can be divided as follows:
Rainbow obsidian, black obsidian, smoke obsidian, gold obsidian, silver obsidian, mahogany obsidian, snowflake obsidian

Finely dispersed water bubbles cause the light to scatter and separate into its spectral colors. Thus, colorful banded interference colors appear on the surface of the polished rainbow obsidian.
